Halesworth and UK
There are several opportunities for volunteering at our Halesworth office in Suffolk. Volunteers can arrange a working schedule to suit their commitments elsewhere. They are supported with in-house training, appraisals, CV development, job search and references. In some cases, training grants may be available. Travel expenses are paid.
At present the posts we are advertising include:
- Finance officer - we are looking for consultancy help (2-4 hours per week visits to Halesworth) from an experienced finance manager.
- Business liaison officer - we are looking for an experienced business person to further develop good working practices between the WLT and our business partners.
- Graphic artists/Designer - we are always in need of help with presentation of our reports, information leaflets, booklets, and exhibitions.
- Web page monitor (AN URGENT NEED) - we need someone to take a regular good hard look at our web site to check that it is up-to-date and working well. Although this work can be based anywhere, the monitor would need to collaborate with our web page manager based off site and the WLT team based in Halesworth, Suffolk.
- Recycling officer - a Halesworth based position focusing on co-ordinating the most effective use of office resources.
- Fund-raiser - as an international charity, we are in constant need of new and effective fund raising ideas. Volunteers, with suggestions and/or experience, could work from home or in the office.
- IT Technician (AN URGENT NEED) - needed to check donated hard and software for suitability and compatibility with WLT requirements. Only a few hours/week in Halesworth.
If you think you have the necessary skills and experience to help, or would like to offer your help in any way, please complete the on-line application form or telephone (+44) 01986 874422 and ask to speak to Cindy Engel (Volunteer co-ordinator).
Overseas
- Occasional opportunity for taxonomists abroad (zoology or botany).
- There are also occasionally limited opportunities for volunteering overseas in one of our many projects around the world. We currently have opportunities for qualified and experienced conservation managers and experienced field biologists who can volunteer for a minimum of three months in the Turks and Caicos islands and Patagonia, Argentina
Please Note: All overseas volunteers will be required to spend between 1 and 4 weeks in the WLT office in Suffolk before representing us abroad.
