Deed of Covenant

This has now been replaced by the new Gift Aid 2000 scheme. If you have an existing Deed of Covenant we will continue to claim the tax back until it expires, however, by signing a Gift Aid declaration we can also claim back tax on any other donations you may make.

New Gift Aid Scheme
(Available to Companies and Individual supporters).

Under the government's new Gift Aid 2000 scheme which came into effect on 6th April, charities are able to claim back the basic rate of tax on all donations made by supporters who pay tax in the UK. Previously the minimum amount on which tax could be recovered for one-off donations was £250. Now there is no bottom limit. So, if you are a UK tax payer please let us know whenever you are making donations, so that the WLT can benefit at no extra cost to yourself.

See our GIFT AID Declaration Form -Address details are above.

Direct Credit

By signing a Direct Credit Order you will be helping us enormously by letting us know that you intend to support our work on an ongoing basis. Your donation can be as small (or large) as you wish and can be made monthly or annually. Knowing the level of support pledged by our donors helps us to plan and budget far more effectively.

Choose Your Project

As you will see on the Direct Credit's Order form, you can choose which project you wish to support - if you prefer to allow us to decide on the most urgent need for funds please direct your donation to our Central Funds. We also have a 'shopping list' to support education, public awareness and other requirements, details of which are available from the WLT. ( See our Direct Credit Form )

Payroll Giving

Many employers operate a Give As You Earn scheme, in which case they will have special forms available. The sum you choose to give will be deducted from your pay before it is taxed so a £10 donation, for example will only cost you £7.80. But do check if charges will be deducted as, in some cases, the Trust does not always receive the full amount.

Additionally for the next three years, the Government are giving a 10% bonus too. This means your donation of £7.80 will actually be worth £11 to your chosen charity. So if you were to donation £10 a month to the WLT we would benefit by an extra £38.40 a year.

Matched Funds

Some companies operate schemes to match employee's donations and could double your contribution automatically; - please check with your employer.

Legacies

Bequests to the World Land Trust can be free of Inheritance Tax. If you are thinking of making, or changing your will this year, why not include a legacy to save some of the world's last unspoiled strongholds ? If you, or your Solicitor, need further information, please contact us. See our address above for contact details or email us at worldlandtrust@btinternet.com

Authors & Artists For Conservation Scheme

AUTHORS & ARTISTS FOR CONSERVATION (AAFC) is the World Land Trust's innovative scheme for writers, illustrators, photographers and editors to donate one of more of the Public Lending Rights (PLR) in their books to the work of the Trust. Books in public libraries accrue PLRs and books that have gone out of print are just as important as new books, as these can be more in demand. Many authors were unware of this scheme and also the annual amounts due are often relatively small, but by donating PLRs to the Trust, they acumulate each year to a sizeable donation.

David Gower was among the first supporters of AAFC and had expressed a personal interest in the work of the Trust.
