We can offer the following resources:
- A Resource Pack for use by teacher and pupils that contains lots of information about rainforests and their plant and wildlife.
- A Teacher's Manual suggesting ways of fitting our projects into the (UK) National Curriculum. Cost £3, or free of charge if you aim to raise funds for WLT projects.
- Videos to hire or purchase:
- Programme for Belize - its forest and wildlife. Filmed at the PFB Field Station (25 minutes)
- Danjugan Island - a Limited Edition. Our new video about the Philippine Reef and Rainforest Project, as well as the work of the Trust. (28 minutes)
Schools may borrow these free of charge if you are fundraising, otherwise £ 3 to hire (for 2 weeks) or £9 to purchase.
- Or visit the The Living Rainforest conservation and education centre, (formerly Wyld Court Rainforest) where you can see a rainforest without having to travel all the way to a real one to see what it is like. See the Wyld Court Rainforest web page or the official website The Living Rainforest for further details and contact information.
- You may want to browse through 'WLT News' back issues for past project information and news. These are online for issues from 1996 onwards.
- We have also available a small online photo gallery of pictures from some of our projects.
After learning about the importance of tropical forests and coral reefs, we are sure you will want to get together and raise funds to help us save them. In return we will send you a personalised certificate (A4 size if your donation is over £50), made out in your schools's name - or according to your instructions - for you to display
Would you like someone from Coral Cay Conservation to visit your school to give a talk (with slides and video displays) about their expeditions to Belize and the Philippines ? If so contact them at the following address or follow the link to:
There are many thousands of web sites on the Internet covering all aspects of the environment and it's conservation and preservation. Many of these sites are of huge educational value and are also a pleasure to visit. In our Links of interest web page, we have selected a number of sites that you many find useful and as starting off points to further explore the web. This is however by no means a comprehensive list nor an attempt at complete coverage of what is out there.
You may also wish to try out your searches using some of the following most popular search engines. When using search engines a good tip to be aware of is that using only one or two keywords will frequently result in a huge list of sites being returned, while too many keywords (say 6 or more) will generally return a much smaller set and these will often exclude sites that may be of interest to you. It is often worth reading the tips that these sites give you on using adavanced search methods.
Another good tip is to look for 'other links' types of pages (as in our own 'links of interest') on web sites that you find, as these can often lead you to sites which for one reason or another do not seem to appear in some of the search engines.
