Help the World Land Trust save Patagonia’s steppe lands
Message from, Sir David Attenborough:
"This is one of the world’s great wildernesses, with outstanding wildlife spectacles including elephant seals, whales and rheas. The WLT’s efforts to acquire and protect this land deserve all the support they can get."
Huge areas of land are coming on to the market in Patagonia because of the collapse of the world market for wool. Ranches are being snapped up by speculators for quick profits and these wonderful wildlife habitats are at risk. Some of the most famous film footage was taken on Peninsula Valdes and yet virtually none of the adjacent steppe is protected. The World Land Trust is urgently raising funds to purchase 25,000 acres to work with partners Fundacion Patagonia Natural to create a reserve and to develop ecotourism. Wildlife will be saved, and you could see:
killer whales ... sea lions ... guanacos ... mara ... right whales ... penguins ... etc.
The WLT, together with its partners, have already helped save 300,000 acres of threatened tropical forest and other wilderness areas over the past decade.
A donation of £25 will purchase and protect an acre of Patagonia on your behalf. The WLT will send you a personalised certificate recording your support, and regular news updates.
Donations may be telephoned, faxed or e-mailed, using a credit card/CAF card:
