71st World Land Trust Council Meeting

- Finance and admin:
- New donations database has been installed and is working as intended, providing improved flexibility and reliability in communications with WLT supporters.
- Development:
- In spite of general economic downturn individuals and corporate supporters were maintaining their commitment, with no obvious effect on income to date.
- A programme of events to celebrate WLT's 20th Anniversary is planned starting in November 2008 and running through to the 21st Anniversary in 2010. A new 20th Anniversary logo has been created.
- Project updates:
- Borneo: appeal launched to raise funds to purchase land in the Lower Kinabatangan floodplain to protect Orang-utans and other threatened wildlife, got off to a good start
- New projects approved by Trustees:
- Araucaria Forest, Brazil: working with new project partners O Boticário. This project is to preserve and restore Araucaria moist forests and their related ecosystems within the Atlantic Forest of southern Brazil.
