Results of the 2003 Design for Life Christmas Cards CompetitionBBC Wildlife Magazine: Sponsoring The World Land Trust Christmas cards

Autumn 2003 saw the World Land Trust announce its Christmas Card competition - "Design for Life" which attracted many entries, and after deliberations the Judges were able to announce the winners.

Winning Designs - Exclusive Christmas Cards

The two winning designs were available to order as Christmas cards in 2003. One of the cards - the Christmas Alligator - is still available, together with this year's Christmas cards. More information about ordering Christmas cards can be found here.

Winners: Ingrid Nilsson lives in Edinburgh. Her design was inspired by a visit last year to Thailand.
Nicole Saint-John is a German born artist now living in California. Each won £500.

Young Winners: Jointly awarded to 10 pupils at Birla Vidya Niketan Junior School, New Delhi - Prateek Chawla, age 8; Ria Kulkarni, 9; Mahima Jaju, 8; Bhavya Jain, 9; Anirudh S Negi, 9; Rohan Kamra, 9; Vaibhav Sharma, 10; Palak Anand, 10; Dhwani Sahdev, 10; and Japneet Wadhera, 10 - for their Rainforest and Wildlife designs the School won £100. As well as the three winners, the judges were also extremely impressed by three further designs which they chose as runners-up: Dubravka Kolanovic from Croatia for her Polar Bear & Fox design; Russell Vernalls from Birmingham, UK for his Otters Collage; and John N Stevenson from Edinburgh for Starring Endangered Wildlife from Around the World. The Competition Judges Were:

John Norris Wood, wildlife artist; Jan Pienkowski, children's illustrator and two-times winner of the Kate Greenaway medal for Illustration; Bruce Pearson, wildlife artist and president of the Society of Wildlife Artists; Rosamund Kidman Cox, editor of BBC Wildlife Magazine and Vivien Burton, publications manager of the World Land Trust.
