Support the World Land Trust:

Save tropical forests and other threatened wildlife habitats

Over 375,000 acres of wildlife habitats have been saved thanks to individual and corporate supporters of the World Land Trust, including tropical and sub-tropical forests, coastal steppe and wetlands.

You can help save tropical forests:

You can save acres as a gift for somebody else or donate in your own name.

Why Save Acres with the World Land Trust?

  • You will take direct action to save tropical forests and other important wildlife areas, by funding the purchase of threatened habitats.
  • The habitats you help buy are protected as nature reserves, owned and managed by local organisations.
  • Habitats are purchased for permanent protection - not limited sponsorship.
  • You can earmark your donation for a specific project.
  • Our gift packages are modest acknowledgements of your contribution, minimising costs and environmental impact.

Ongoing appeal: Save orang-utan habitat in Borneo

Because of the world demand for Palm Oil, the forests of Borneo are disappearing before our eyes. This is bad news for Orang-utans and other wildlife. WLT has an urgent appeal to create forest corridors in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. Will you help?

Our conservation projects

Right now, our most urgent conservation projects are saving threatened wildlife habitats in Brazil, Ecuador, India and Paraguay.

Wetland on the REGUA reserve. Read more about this reserve here.

Brazil: Only 7% of the Atlantic rainforest remains intact,

so we are working to increase the Guapi Assu reserve in Brazil to save one of the last locations where original forests remain intact.

Buenaventura Reserve. Read more about the tropical forest project in Ecuador here.

Ecuador: 80% of Ecuador's tropical forests are already gone,

leaving many species globally threatened, so we need to act quickly to save what is left.

Indian elephant. Read more about the elephant corridor here.

India: The Indian Elephant is endangered,

so we are working to safe guard corridors of tropical forest to enable the safe passage of elephants.

Paraguay: The growing market for biofuels threatens unique habitats,

so we are fundraising to purchase and protect Dry Chaco, Chaco-Pantanal and Atlantic Forest, all of which are threatened by the spread of industrial agriculture.
